Crystals should really only be used as a tool to help support you on your journey, the work has to be done from within and you can’t just rely on crystals to fix all your problems. When you’re looking to buy crystals for the first time, make sure you do your research on the seller as you want to make sure you’re getting something authentic. 

To harness the power of crystals there are a few ways you can use them, if you have smaller crystals you could carry them with you in your pocket, or a more popular way is to wear them on bracelets or pendants. If you'd rather use them at home, then you could place them under your pillow to have them close by whilst you sleep or have them with you in the bath or around the bath whilst you relax and unwind. 

When it comes to cleansing your crystals, you don’t have to wait for full moons if you don’t want to, it can be done at any time. People often ask about cleansing them under moonlight, and whilst it can be a powerful thing, you only have to look at the way it controls the sea and currents, it’s not the only way to cleanse your crystals. Instead you need to consider the intention, as this is the key aspect here. 

Crystals like a bath, so place them in a nice bowl of mineral water overnight (or for a few hours) and add a little sea salt too - just be careful not to go too heavy on the salt as this can cause the softer crystals to fade or disintegrate. An alternative, quicker way to cleanse them, and a great start for beginners, is to hold the thought in your mind that you’re cleansing them, and visualise white light flooding through the crystal.
